This 6W high-performance task light produces nearly 300 lumens and can be dimmed down to less than 1% for mood setting and energy efficiency without any flicker. Deep dimming is enabled with the built-in TRIAC dimming capability of the NXP SSL2101 driver, which is compatible with most off-the-shelf household TRIAC dimmers.

Cree’s neutral white high-power LEDs are featured in this design and are driven at 350 mA. Combined, the LEDs produce over 300 lumens with a Color Rendering Index (CRI) value of 85. This demonstration fixture exemplifies a simple approach to replacing a fluorescent lamp and can be easily integrated into many linear applications. Solid-state lighting fixtures using the SSL2101T driver solution will deliver financial benefits over a conventional power supply over the life of the product, as well as provide the following additional features and benefits.

NXP SSL2101 Dimmable Driver
This small, highly integrated, and highly efficient driver IC is the next step in SSL retrofit LED lighting. The Isolated SSL2101 TRIAC Dimming Evaluation Board from NXP allows the user to dim LEDs down to < 1%. The evaluation board is made for flexibility and highlights the unique features of the SSL2101 Dimmable Driver, including: Dimming to < 1%; variable output current setting up to 1A; variable voltage from 9V to 23V, a customer-defined dimming curve, high efficiency, and power factor > 0.9.
