Aavid-Thermalloy Expands Line of DC/DC Converter Heat Sinks

Standard eighth-brick thermal solutions are now available.

Despite significant gains in converter efficiency, smaller eighth-brick packages continue to pose thermal challenges due to increased power density. Aavid-Thermalloy's newly expanded heat sink line helps engineers overcome the power density hurdle with complete off-the-shelf cooling solutions. Unlike other converter heat sinks, Aavid designs feature thin-fin geometry that improves thermal performance and reduces temperature for increased reliability. Thinner fins also reduce pressure drop, thereby improving system airflow and lowering fan costs. In addition, all heat sinks are ready to mount with interface material pre-applied for streamlined procurement and assembly.
