Arrow has joined forces with Altera, National Semiconductor, and other leading manufacturers to bring you the MotionFire platform, a versatile kit providing extensive support for motion control and industrial communications. Comprised of a FireFighter baseboard with FireDriver power modules, the MotionFire platform dramatically speeds the design, prototyping, and testing of many embedded precision applications across the industrial, automotive, medical, instrumentation, and consumer industries.

• Altera® low-power Cyclone® III FPGA
• Altera Nios® II embedded soft-core processor
• Advanced motor control algorithms
• Communication options such as Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, Profinet, SERCOS III, CAN, USB, RS485, and next-generation protocols
• National Semiconductor’s PowerWise® products
• Dual Ethernet ports
• DDR2 DRAM and flash memories

• Expansion connectors for up to 6 FireDriver modules to support 24 phases or 12 motors

FireDriver Module Features:

• Galvanic isolation with 4-phase drivers providing up to 10A and 50 VDC per channel

• Hall effect sensing
• Three-phase back EMF measurement for sensorless implementation
• Synchronous ADC sampling
• Temperature sensing
